Randy Krummenacher And Team JiR set for race weekend at ‘The Cathedral’

Team JiR and Randy Krummenacher will soon be in ‘The Cathedral’ of MotoGP when they arrive at the Circuit Van Drenthe in Assen for Dutch TT.

Assen is one of the magical places to race a motorcycle and it has been on the calendar since 1949, when the Grand Prix series first began. The circuit was originally 10.27 miles (16.54 km) long then reduced to 3.78 miles (6.1km) in 1984. The current layout has been used since 2006. As usual, race day falls on the Saturday which is when the Moto2 riders will compete against each other over 24 laps of the 2.822 mile circuit.

Randy Krummenacher, #4, 2015 Team JiR rider:

“Assen is always a joy for me to ride around, although the weather forecast sees mixed conditions for this weekend coming. I really look forward to this race because I also like it to race in wet conditions, so this isn’t a problem for me. During the last break I continued my fitness programme so I’m well prepared for Assen and I would like to build on the achievements made in Mugello and Barcelona last time out on track in order to get a strong result in Assen this weekend.”

Gianluca Montiron, Team JiR team principal: “The next two races are important for us to capitalise on the steady improvement of our rider. This year Randy is able to reduce the gap in the race distance to the winner which clearly shows progress but still the job remains in Assen and at the Sachsenring to make the step forward in terms of the actual race result. This will keep the impetus and give us some positive things to take forward into the summer break as we continue to plan our progress through the remaining races of 2015.”
