A professional motocross racer, Joël competed most recently in the J-Race Racing Team on a Honda CRF450R in the 2014 Motocross World Championship.
In motocross he found his perfect physical and mental challenge, but one year ago a crash at the MXGP of Italy gave him a whole new set of challenges as he learned to deal with life in a wheelchair.
From retaining his competitive spirit to coming to terms with his injury working with Wings for Life and To Walk Again, and reflecting upon that event one year ago, Joël Roelants, A Life Behind the Bars is the remarkably inspiring story of the strength of mind and determination he embodies.
A Life Behind the Bars opens the door on the psyches of Honda riders at the top of their sports, what drives them and what it takes to succeed.
