SUZUKI'S
GSX-R1000 ROARS INTO DEALER SHOWROOMS
Suzuki
GB is preparing itself for a January surge in sales as its new
headline hitting supersports machine, the technologically advanced
GSX-R1000, makes its UK debut in Suzuki dealer showrooms on
Monday, 22nd January.
Hailed as the new king of superbikes by motorcycle media around
the world, the rave reports from the first press test in Atlanta
last month have exceeded even Suzuki's expectations and kept
public interest at an all-time high.
Race-bred and built with a passion for performance, Suzuki's
new flagship model has aerodynamic qualities comparable to its
younger family members; the equally new, light and nimble GSX-R600
and the machine that invented the race-replica genre, the GSX-R750.
Weighing in at an incredibly light 170kg, the Suzuki GSXR1000
boasts an unrivalled power-to-weight-ratio, has a six-piston
caliper braking system and a frame design inspired by the 500cc
Grand Prix Championship winning Suzuki RGV500.
Early indications are that Suzuki engineers have built a machine
ready to take on, and beat, the opposition and the only thing
threatening to be faster than the GSXR1000 is the speed at which
it is being bought by eager bikers wanting to get their hands
on the ultimate performance machine.
The first shipment of GSX-R1000 machines into the UK is mostly
pre-sold with Suzuki's official dealer network already reporting
customers putting down deposits for the next consignment. That
demand is set to explode but Suzuki GB is confident it will
have enough bikes in the country to meet customer expectations.
Suzuki's General Manager of Sales and Marketing, Nick Barnes,
said: "Even before the first press review was published, customers
were putting down deposits to own the new GSX-R1000. The excellent
reports and test results are sending demand through the roof,
but we expected this and have ordered plenty of bikes to satisfy
the UK market. Customers wanting to buy a GSX-R1000 are advised
to contact their official Suzuki dealer."
The introduction of this model places Suzuki in a unique position
within the motorcycle market as they now have the top rated
race-replica machines in all three categories - 600cc, 750cc
and 1000cc.
Suzuki's all-new GSX-Rl 000 costs £8999 plus on the road
costs of £350.00. It comes complete with a two-year warranty,
twelve months' AA Roadside and At Home Assistance and AlphaDot
security marking. |
