The 24 year old from Clowne in Derbyshire was left languishing down in 16th after the first wet qualifying session of the day. However, a more determined performance on dry tarmac in the second 35-minute session had Joe running as high as seventh, knocking on the door of a top 5 grid start.

With a matter of tenths of a second separating riders at the sharp end, Joe just missed out on a top ten combined qualifying time, and will line up in P11 for Bank Holiday Monday's 16-lap British Supersport race.

With a strong start, it is well within Joe's capabilities to elevate himself up into the top ten to score a solid point scoring finish at the picturesque 2.692-mile Cheshire circuit.

The second British Supersport race of the season will be broadcast live on British Eurosport, with a scheduled start time of 14.40, tomorrow, 5 May.

Joe Dickinson: "It's not ideal but it's a move in the right direction I feel we are making some progress in the right direction. We just need to build from here and get our season moving."

Rob McElnea, Team Principal: "Joe needs a good race to build his confidence after a few little crashes he's suffered so far this season. He needs to be riding high on his confidence and then he'll see the results come naturally.."

Combined Qualifying Result:
1. Martin (Kawasaki), 2. Richards (Triumph), 3. Kennaugh (Yamaha), 4. Lowry (Suzuki), 5. Young (Triumph), 6. Fitzpatrick (Yamaha), 7. Brogan (Honda), 8. Westmoreland (Honda), 9. Neate (Kawasaki), 10. Hutchinson (Yamaha), 11. Joe Dickinson (Truck Links Yamaha)

British Eurosport Live TV Broadcast Window, 12.30 - 16.30 (Monday 5 May)
