Suzuki has introduced an Anniversary Edition GSX-R750 and GSX-R600 to celebrate the 20" year of its race-bred flagship sports bike.
In recognition of this significant birthday, the very first Anniversary model sold in the UK was presented to its proud new owner - Mark Robinson of Preston, Lancs - at Silverstone last weekend by Suzuki GB's newly-appointed Sales & Marketing Director, Nick Palmer and leading contenders in this year's World Superbike Championship, Australian Troy Corser and Japanese team-mate Yukio Kagayama.
Making subtle and stylish reference to the history of the model range, the new bikes boast retro-style paintwork and graphics; from horizontal lines to blue seat-cover and a timeless colour-scheme which complements the sharp, modern bodywork.
Special features unique to the Anniversary models include vertically grooved brake discs, blue chain and black limited edition end cam with embossed anniversary logo. Each machine is sold complete with a limited edition key and limited edition serial number engraved on the yoke.

| First-ever GSX-R750 |
Suzuki launched the original GSX-R750 in 1985 and set new standards for road-going sports bikes. For the first time in motorcycling history, the public could buy a big-bore machine that offered genuine sports performance and race-bred technology.

There have been 17 subsequent model updates since those early days along with endless year-on-year improvements to the GSX-R family, which has grown to include 600cc, 750cc and 1000cc versions, each sharing innovative design and technology values plus a reputation for living in the fast lane.
The first-ever GSX-R750 was unveiled at the Cologne Show in 1984. Here was a bike that looked like it had been wheeled straight out of a pit lane garage but was actually a high-volume production machine. It had four cylinders, air and oil cooling and a racing heritage to be proud of.
The Suzuki continued to receive detailed improvements and refinements year-on-year with a number of notable milestones:
1988-GSX-R750J:
Complete rework of engine and chassis with every detail re-evaluated.
Updates to the SACS cooling system with bigger diameter hoses giving increased oil flow.
SCAl (Suzuki Condensed Air Intake) with new intake ducts on either side of the twin headlights.
Slingshot carburettors - lighter and thinner for increased throttle responsiveness.
Dry weight: 195kg.
1992-GSX-R750WN:
Almost all-new, retaining the best of the previous models.
New water-cooled engine featuring curved radiator and small electric fan whilst retaining the well-proven oil injection piston cooling.
Twice the cooling capacity of previous model.
Computer designed thicker and strong frame.
New link-type rear suspension.
Dry weight: 208kg.
1996-GSX-R750T:
Reborn and built for the race track.
First year of factory-supported race team in World Superbike Championship with John Reynolds and Kirk McCarthy.
Introduction of SRAD (Suzuki Ram Air Direct) induction.
Most compact and lightest 750 in class.

1998-GSX-R750W:
Electronic fuel-injection.
Further weight reduction.
Dry weight: 179kg.
2000 - GSX-R750Y:
Lightest and most powerful 750 ever.
Completely new sharp and sleek look.
Engine and chassis totally redesigned - shorter, narrower and lighter with longer swingarm.
16-bit digital engine management and fuel injection system with 42mm throttle bodies and double valve.
Larger SRAD induction allowing more air into a bigger but lighter airbox.
Dry weight: 166kg.
2004 - GSX-R750K4:
New compact, lightweight design with dimensions comparable to a 600.
Slightly shorter and narrower with new chassis.
Titanium valves, revised dual-valve fuel-injection.
Sharper styling with LED rear light and dual vertically stacked headlights.
Radial-mounted brakes.
Dry weight: 163kg.
