ACU MOTOCROSS COMMITTEE ANNOUNCE NEW CHAIRMAN

The ACU would like to congratulate Roy Humphrey on his new appointment as Motocross Committee Chairman. Roy who will now lead the Motocross Committee has been a member of the committee for three years and comes from a motocross background.

Roy was racing in Sidecar Motocross, both at National and International levels, up until 1991 and he has several years experience of British Enduro Championship racing. Since 1993 Roy has been involved in organising motocross events both at British championship level and club level. As an official of the South Midland Centre for over eight years, Roy has helped clubs with the setting up of tracks and managing of events.

Roy said “I am pleased to be taking over the role of Motocross Committee Chairman and I hope that I can build on the achievements made by Frank Dixon and continue to guide motocross and the ACU to bigger and better things in 2003”.

The ACU acknowledges the efforts made by Frank Dixon, former Chairman, over the four years he held the position. Frank has played a key role in the Motocross Committee, particularly in his hard work at raising the profile of the British Maxxis Motocross Championship and he will continue to be a significant member of the Committee and of the ACU. Frank will be at the forefront of the organisation of the British Motocross Grand Prix to be held later this year.

In conjunction with the Motocross Committee and the Training & Development Panel, Frank will also be reviewing safety standards and track layouts. His responsibility will place particular emphasis on practice facilities and venues for the British championship.
