SUZUKI'S SOLUTION TO COMMUTING NIGHTMARES

UNDERGROUND STRIKES, delayed trains and congested roads are just some of the perils facing the modern day commuter. Suzuki has the solution -it's GS500.

September 25th and October 1st 2002: London grinds to a very painful halt as the Underground workers go on strike. Virtually every route in, out and around the country's capital snarls to a stop with the sheer weight of traffic.

Possible Underground and rail station closures as a result of industrial action by Britain's Fire-fighters
are set to cause more problems in the months to come, with six separate strikes planned between
October 29th and December.

But despite the chaos that this sort of strike brings, there are a group of people getting to their destinations on time. It's the same group of people that beat the traffic Jams everyday. They never complain about the fallbacks or locked solid roads. They are motorcyclists and the happiest of them all are riding Suzuki's GS500.

The GS500 is the perfect commuting bike, combining capable motorway cruising with cross-town traffic beating ease. Marry that to low insurance, low road tax and a low purchase price, not to mention widely available free parking, and the reason this is the ideal commuter becomes clear.

The Suzuki has sporty sleek styling and naked good looks that attract attention wherever it goes. It has a 487cc air-cooled twin cylinder four-stroke engine that offers seamless power delivery. For in town work it excels with a smooth shifting gearbox and rapid acceleration from traffic lights.

The GS500 has a proven track record of reliability, while its frugal powerplant returns impressive mileage figures giving the GS500 the scope to escape the confines of the urban gridlock. A large 20-litre tank means in excess of 180-miles between refuelling stops.

Performance of this commuter is class leading. A low 173kg weight combined with plush suspension
and a comfortable seating position means this bike can be hustled rapidly through traffic in complete
control. Taking care of stopping the bike are disc brakes front and rear with twin piston callipers that
are more than up to the job of bringing you to a halt. If you fancy saving even more money, there's a grab-rail for you to take a pillion as well.

With an on the road price of Just £3599 (The cost of an All Zones Travel Card allowing use of trains and Underground from Brighton to London and around London - a typical commuting distance for the
GS500 - per annum Is £3060, price correct on October 21st 2002). It represents a real commuting bargain. For that you get a two-year unlimited mileage warranty, one-year roadside assistance from the AA, an Alphadot security marking system and access to preferential rates through Suzuki Insurance. Not to mention a bike that will put an end to your commuting nightmares. Full details on both machine and accessories options are available through authorised Suzuki Dealers or click on
