Two’s company, three’s not a crowd for Kawasaki fanatics

When biker Phil Wright walked into his local dealership recently to take a look at the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, he was pretty certain that he would be riding one away.

What he and Ian Huntley from the Reading-based Pegasus dealership were not expecting, however, was that Phil’s girlfriend Marie Collins and friend Warren Rivers, who had both accompanied him to the showroom, would also fall in love with the 636cc Ninja and place orders too.

Phil said: “Everything that I had read about the bike was true. I wanted that extra few cc’s and it has the torque to pull you through. It’s a stunning looking bike and the cash back was a real bonus. The fact that Marie and Warren also bought one surprised me as much as anyone.”

Pegasus, who have been trading as a Kawasaki dealer for 28 years, were able to offer all three £500 cashback as part of a nationwide Kawasaki promotion.

After Sales Manager Ian Huntley said: “Phil came along to look at trading in his old Ninja ZX-12R and loved the feel of the new ZX-6R. Before I knew it Marie (Phil’s girlfriend) wanted to take one out, followed by their friend Warren and they were convinced that it was the bike for them too.”

The delighted threesome chose one of each from the three colours of Black Pearl, Candy Lightning Blue and, of course, Lime Green, and have all now taken delivery. And that means Phil and Marie are back to having a bike each after sharing or doubling up on the ZX-12R for the past three years.

Ian went on to say: “I have worked with Kawasaki for more than 25 years in various forms and this is the best 600 I have seen. Having spoken to Phil I was fairly sure he would be placing an order but to supply the other two following just a quick meeting in our showroom really made the day for us and them.”

Kawasaki’s £500 cashback offer used by the trio started in August and runs until the end of September, with every buyer of a new unregistered ZX-6R – or the track-ready, built-to-race, special edition ZX-6RR – from an authorised Kawasaki dealer receiving £500 in crisp notes.

Martin Lambert, Marketing Manager of Kawasaki UK said: “The Ninja ZX-6R really is a fantastic bike and I am not surprised that people are converted once they see it and get a chance to ride it. I am also pleased that people are taking advantage of the cashback offer which shows that we can give a little bit back to our customers.”
