Another holiday year again at H-C Travel celebrating 10 years of worldwide motorcycle tours and rentals

It's time to look ahead to another holiday year again. The main highlight for us at H-C Travel is that we celebrate 10 years of worldwide motorcycle tours and rentals in October. We plan the ‘celebrations’ to continue for a couple of months, so keep you eyes peeled for emails, website offers and magazine competitions during the autumn months. And we will again be at the International Motorcycle Show at the NEC, Birmingham, Stand L16 in the Touring & Leisure Zone, 4th -14th November 2004.

On a personal note, I would like to thank all of you who have travelled with us over the past 10 years, now into the many thousands, and who have appreciated what is still a unique service to British motorcyclists.

True to our traditions, we have again been offering prizes this year:

Our congratulations go to Colin and Lynda Fish, who won our 100% Biker competition of a two week self-guided tour of the USA, taking in Los Angeles, the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and the Mojave Desert. We hope to have an article in a forthcoming issue of the magazine.

And congratulations also go to our other prizewinner, Rob Antell, who won a holiday to Biketoberfest with Back Street Heroes. Again, watch out for a review in a future issue.

It's time to think ahead to next summer too. We have made some big changes to our Asia programme for 2005. In Mongolia, we have revised the route to combine something of the steppes and the desert into one itinerary. And in China, northern India and Bhutan we now have KTM 640 Adventurers available as our main tour motorcycles to supplant the local Chiang Jiangs and Royal Enfield 500s (but we have kept the Enfields for those died-in-the-wool enthusiasts. Another first for H-C Travel!

The only disappointment has been the cancelling of our Tibet tours again. We had hoped that the new road from Sikkim in India would allow us to run the tours again now that Nepal seems to be in permanent instability (if there is such a thing!), but unfortunately it doesn’t look as if the road will be completed in time. Still, something to look forward to for 2006 ….

We also had a bit of a setback with our planned expansion in Canada this year, so we are relaunching with a vengeance for 2005: guided tours of the Rockies and our new self-guided tour programme in eastern Canada to compliment our rentals there. All of these new tours are superb ways to see very different parts of the World's second largest country. We also hope to be able to offer Harleys in Vancouver again after a break of 4 years.

If it’s the USA you’re interested in, don't delay for that dream ride - Route 66, the Wild West, Baja California, Florida, Northern and Southern Rockies, or American Music, we have the tour for you. We are adding extra dates for 2005 for our Route 66 and Wild West tours because they have proved so popular, and introducing a strict maximum of 15 bikes on all tours, so the great experience just keeps getting better!

And of course our rental and self-guided tour programme in the USA goes from strength to strength. The demand for Harleys just keeps on increasing, but we continue to increase the number of other bikes available. We have added Victory Kingpins for those of you that want to try a different American V! If we can clear the insurance hurdle, we may have some sports bikes available in California. And don’t forget our Honda XR400s in select locations - perfect for those of you who are experienced offroad riders who want to get just that little bit further away from the rest of mankind. And just to make matters even better, our rental and tour prices are lower than they were five years ago!

And then there's Australia to think about - much of it is too hot to visit in their summer, so go in the northern summer instead!

And not forgetting our exciting offroad programme in Peru - land of the Incas!
