HogBid.Com motorcycle auction site launched during Biketoberfest this year in Daytona Beach, Florida

This specialty web site is a marketplace style site that allows people to buy or sell in many formats, such as traditional auction, Dutch auction, Fixed Price, and offers Buy It Now and eStore fronts. The launch, which occurred on Thursday 20 October of last year, was met with resounding success.

HogBid.Com is owned and operated by Oyster Software, Inc., an up and coming player in the B2B software arena. Kenneth Barker, Chief Executive Officer states, “The launch of Hog Bid was more than I could have hoped for. Hundreds of thousands of people have been to the site, with many signing up as both users and sellers.”

The site is built specifically for the bike enthusiast, featuring categories from hogs to metrics, clothing, accessories, and just about anything else. One of the store fronts that have taken advantage of the HogBid’s grand opening special of no store fees until January is Wide Open Cycles. Wide Open is a custom bike builder that has been gaining popularity, and wins, at regional custom shows.

Dale Parker of Wide Open has this to say about HogBid, “All I can say is that it’s about time. This is the type of venue that the industry needs, and wants. The amount of traffic that we have gained from HogBid is unbelievable. We here at Wide Open have shifted our internet strategy to HogBid, away from our previous ecommerce areas. Our thinking is that HogBid has the vision, expertise, and most importantly the understanding that it takes to be in this [sic] motorcycle marketplace.”

Bruce Janssens, President adds, “In addition to the buying and selling, our entire line of B2B products, especially our Customer Relationship Management solution, SeaRM™, is suited for the sellers. This tool will help to drive more business, up sell, and cross sell, customers as well as prospects.”

All fees will be about 25% less than other auction-marketplace style sites.
