AMCA AND ACU EXPLORE CLOSER WORKING RELATIONSHIP

A meeting was held between the AMCA and ACU on the 23rd April 2003 to explore a closer working relationship. This has come at a time when both organisations are facing similar pressures. Land access, child protection, health and safety and environmental issues will all be discussed at the next meeting proposed to take place on the 20th May 2003.

Neil Hellings, Chief Executive of the ACU said: “I am aware that previous attempts have been made for the ACU and AMCA to merge. However, this drive towards closer cooperation and a unified approach in dealing with the numerous threats to our sport should only serve to strengthen the position for motorcycle sport. We look forward to receiving support from all involved - be they riders, officials or journalists.”

Don Green, Chief Executive of the AMCA remarks: "Obviously there are problems facing off road sport and a combined response is better than each individual organisation trying to solve these problems. We do need all off road organisations to work together and hopefully a start has been made."
