2009 SUZUKI MX RANGE COMING TO MOTORCYCLE DEALERS SOON

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

Suzuki GB has unveiled the 2009 UK motocross line-up, with new variations of the outstanding four-stroke range and a continued commitment to two-stroke models.

Following the launch of the first fuel injected production motocross machine last year with the RM-Z450, Suzuki have remained faithful to the winning formula with changes to colours and graphics for the 2009 model year - a change applied to the successful RM-Z250 also.

With two-stroke models deleted from some manufacturer line-ups, Suzuki GB remain committed for the new year, with the continuation of the legendary RM250 and 125. Despite the continued debate between small capacity four stroke and two stroke models, Suzuki continue to wave the 2T flag in schoolboy motocross, with the small wheel and big wheel variants of the iconic RM85.

Talking about the range, Suzuki GB marketing manager, George Cheeseman, commented, “We stole a march this year with the introduction of the world’s first fuel injected MX production bike with the RM-Z450, and it proved its pedigree straight from the crate. For 2009 the winning formula remains with colour and graphic changes to both the 450 and 250 with continued commitment in the UK for our RM two-stroke range too, which we believe is still very important and valid for our market.”

With models from the 2009 range arriving at motorcycle dealers with immediate effect, all also come with free membership to the Suzuki off-road team club. For more information visit www.suzukioffroadteam.co.uk

Suso MVR-D riders Carl Nunn and Jason Dougan take part in the DEP two-stroke series on their Suzuki RM250 motorcycle

Monday, July 14th, 2008

In a break from their normal schedule, Suso MVR-D riders Carl Nunn and Jason Dougan, took part in the DEP two-stroke series held at Whitby in Yorkshire at the weekend, with Nunn taking the Suzuki RM250 to an impressive overall victory on the day.

With both riders more accustomed to the four-stroke Suzuki power of their MVR-D machines, it would be a return to roots as Dougan competed on the RM125 and Nunn back on a 250 two-stroke for the first time in four years.

In the 125cc class, it would prove to be a hard day of racing for Jason. Despite a promising fourth place in qualifying, he was unable to better the start position in heat one, instead having to battle from the back to reassume fourth place at the flag. Determined to do better in race two, the RM125 rider rode strongly from mid-pack to second place, running out of time to chase the leader, before taking another fourth place in the final race of the day after a collision with another rider.

For teammate Nunn, it would be a more successful day of racing, starting off quickest in qualifying by nearly two seconds. A battle in race one with Mark Eastwood that resulted in the pair colliding, left Carl having to remount, still going on to score a credible third place. Determined to do better in race two, the Suso MVR-D rider got a stronger start and quickly began a battle with local expert and British championship front-runner James Noble. Nunn took the lead with a few laps to go and crossed the line in front to take the win. In the final race of the day a much better start saw Carl lead from lap two to the finish line with a 20 second lead, taking the overall win too.

Commenting on his two-stoke ride, Carl said, “I’ve really enjoyed my racing today and felt good on the bike. I can’t believe how nice the RM250 is to ride and considering it was a standard bike with a pipe on, the performance was just right for me. I’d like to thank Suzuki and DEP for allowing me to take part in a great day of racing.”
