Anti
Theft Reward Scheme
Tuesday 23 July 2002
With immediate effect the anti motorcycle theft reward
scheme (Rider Theftline) operated by The Motorcycle Action
Group in conjunction with the Motorcycle Industry (MCIA)
is terminated.
The reward scheme provided for the payment of sums of
up to 10K for information leading to the conviction
of persons conspiring to steal motorcycles.
The Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA) are withdrawing
from the scheme and in consequence MAG is reviewing the
financial reward element of the anti-theft package which
it launched five years ago.
The £500 reward which covers all full MAG members
bikes remains in place and will be paid to anyone providing
information leading to the
conviction of thieves responsible for stealing motorcycles
owned by MAG members.
MAG (UK) remain committed to the principle of a reward
scheme and welcome the involvement of other parties with
whom to share the cost of it.
